The AMAZING Health Benefits of Mangos

I absolutely ADORE mangos!!!! My love affair with these decadent fruits started with my first trip to Jamaica 3 years ago. Before I went on this trip, I decided to take the entire trip to experience all the exotic fruits of Jamaica and to do a fruit fast.
I met many kind locals and I asked to be introduced to EVERY fruit the island had to offer. I met one very kind man that offered to go and gather an abundance of fruit and he came back with 3 boxes literally, overflowing with fruit!!! I was in heaven!!!
I spent the next few days eating copious amounts of fruit and learning the names and health benefits of them all. The most distinct memory I have of my Jamaican fruit experience was my first bite into a Jamaican mango. It was ORGASMIC! The fruit was so incredibly juicy that it was dripping all over me and I found myself laughing with delight!!!!
In that moment, I literally became addicted and ate so many I couldn't keep count! I even rubbed the mango all over my naked skin and laid in the sun for hours. I remember I was SO happy that in that moment I didn't care if the Earth ended, right then and there!
After returning to the states, I haven't had a mango that quite measured up but I still love and adore them and hope to go back to Jamaica one day soon, even if just for a day of eating mangos!!!!
Mangos not only taste like HEAVEN but they are loaded with health benefits! I have made a list of some of the impressive benefits to incorporating mangos into your diet. Here they are:
1. Prevents Cancer Research has shown antioxidant compounds in mango fruit have been found to protect against colon, breast, leukemia and prostate cancers. These compounds include quercetin, isoquercitrin, astragalin, fisetin, gallic acid and methylgallat, as well as the abundant enzymes.
2. Lowers Cholesterol The high levels of fiber, pectin and vitamin C help to lower serum cholesterol levels, specifically Low-Density Lipoprotein (the bad stuff).
3. Clears the Skin
Can be used both internally and externally for the skin. Mangos help clear clogged pores and eliminate pimples.
4. Improves Eye Health One cup of sliced mangoes supplies 25 percent of the needed daily value of vitamin A, which promotes good eyesight and prevents night blindness and dry eyes.
5. Alkalizes the Whole Body The tartaric acid, malic acid, and a trace of citric acid found in the fruit help to maintain the alkali reserve of the body.
6. May Help with Diabetes Mango leaves help normalize insulin levels in the blood. Mango fruit has a relatively low glycemic index (41-60) so moderate quantities will not spike your sugar levels.
7. Promotes Healthy Sex Mangos are a great source of vitamin E. Research has shown balanced proper amounts of vitamin E (from whole foods) does help boost your sex drive. And you can always enjoy licking mango juice off of the skin of your lover. This is a sensual way to improve your sex life!
You can also use mango juice as a topical skin treatment to obtain glowing, radiant skin!!! Take the inside of the mango peel and rub it over your skin and leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing with cold water! I do this every time I eat mangos! I cannot resist!!!
So there you have it my friends!!!! You can probably see why I am in love with these fruits and why in India mango is known as the, "King of Fruits". I hope you can get your hands on one that makes you fall in love!!!
