Love Yourself, Heal Yourself

I have been asked by a lot of people I meet what are ways to heal a certain disease they have. Are there certain foods I should eat and herbs I can take? And while the answer is yes there are plenty of things to eat, my simple answer to this question is this: Love yourself!

Now you may be thinking, how is loving myself going to heal me of cancer or fibromyalgia or acne or any ailment you may have. Here is what I have to say and share.

I truly believe when we love ourselves we take on a different approach to our own well being. We see our bodies as temples, our homes, our vehicles. When we love and honor our bodies and realize what we feed our body, what we think about our body and how what we say and do all have a profound direct effect on our health, we change the course of the way our body feels and the way our mind effects our bodies health.

Disease has been said to be just that, 'dis-ease'. There seems to be a number of illnesses on the rise. I believe when we are given a diagnosis by a doctor, we sometimes can take it on so powerfully that we give our 'dis-ease' the power to keep making us ill. A wise woman once told me "Why OWN an illness?". When we claim it in our minds, our body responds making our body sicker. Instead replace your illness or disease with a mantra of "I am well!" or "I am a radiant being of impeccable health and vitality!"

You make feel like your are tricking yourself by saying this if you have been told you are "sick", but many people have healed themselves of every illness we can imagine by starting with their minds! This is a powerful form of self healing! And one you can do starting right this moment!

When we show love and respect to our bodies, we naturally will gravitate toward feeding ourselves healthier food. I believe in simplifying ones approach to what can seem so overwhelmingly complicated! Eat food that is as close to the Earth as possible! Drink plenty of water. Get enough sleep. Meditate. Breathe. Move. and Practice love and gratitude.

I think society has created an imbalance and has purposefully made things far too complicated! And when we find ourselves engaged in the world too much, we can easily find ourselves out of balance.

Taking care of yourself in ANY way you can right now, is how you get well! Start now! It is never too late to learn a new way and to heal yourself. You deserve to show honor and love to yourself. Begin by asking yourself before you eat something, "Is this loving and healing to my body?" By asking this you open a new door to the way you think about what you fuel your body with.

It may be that you thought that a certain 'energy bar' was beneficial to your health but you never really stopped to see what ingredients were in it that actually may be what is making you sick. By eating what the Earth gave us and by educating ourselves on what it is exactly we have been partaking of and how it may be negatively impacting us, we are loving ourselves.

For me when I became aware of what I was eating and putting on my body in the form of cosmetics, I was liberated by the awareness's I had! It opened doors to places I had never opened and made way for me to live my life in a more simple, loving way that has brought me much healing.

I began healing myself from many 'dis-eases' I had just by educating myself on what I was eating and putting on my body and by honoring my body as my temple. I now show love and respect to my body in a way I never knew was possible! I can truly say I heal myself by loving myself!

Loving oneself is a journey. Sometimes we hang onto the past and carry with us the emotional traumas and pains of what has happened or things we have done that we aren't proud of. It takes courage and forgiveness to heal yourself of these pains that cause 'dis-ease' within our minds and bodies. It is worth it to show yourself forgiveness and love and respect. Remember LOVE is the power that heals all.

I have this on my bathroom wall to remind me! Surround yourself with loving affirmation! Blessings to ALL!
