Want to Change For The Better? Here's How!!!



Sometimes we want change in certain areas of our lives, but we often times do not know where to even begin to obtain that change. In todays world, everything is extremely revolved around "instant gratification", thanks to technology, that we lose sight of how change requires consistent effort and your ability to take the time daily to set goals for yourself.


You can achieve anything you want, you just have to DO IT! No excuses, no trying, just DOING! If it is just ONE step in the positive direction, that is a STEP! Train your brain to take away the idea of small versus large. If it is a positive step, its a step in the right direction. Consistency creates change in the direction you wish to go in.


If you have what you think is a "big goal" in your mind, it is easy to see it as something "Impossible" or "Too complicated" and just give up. Often times we set ourselves up for failure by not giving ourselves credit for each step we take in a positive direction. Maybe our goal has not been reached yet, but keep your sights set high. Remember if what you want is worth giving your attention to in order to change it, by all means don't give up now!


In order to make your goal seem obtainable and manageable, you must set daily goals. Taking it ONE day at a time. This ensures success, accountability and CHANGE! We don't brush our teeth one time a week and expect not to get cavities. We consistently brush daily to keep our mouths clean to not get cavities. We don't workout once a week and think that is enough to lose 50 pounds. It is the daily routine that creates the change!


Just remember, ONE day at a time. Focus on TODAY! How many times has one month gone by and you think to yourself, "wow a MONTH went by!?!" I know a lot of us have had this thought! I can guarantee if you set a 30 day goal of daily focusing on your goal, you will be able to achieve it!


Maybe your goal is to lose weight, be more positive, start a new career, create healthy relationships, drink more water, and maybe it is all of the above and more! Just write down your goals, make a daily checklist. Keep it simple! It can be as simple as you make it or complex.


Just know, when starting out, keep your goals manageable. We often times over complicate things but even if you create a checklist and have it say "Eat Healthy, Get 15 minutes of Exercise, Sleep 8 hours and Drink 100 ounces of Water" and its that simple, remember, it is about creating a positive change.


Take some time to set a checklist for yourself for the next 30 days and hold yourself accountable to it! Maybe ask a friend to check in or do a 30 day challenge with your family member or a friend or your boyfriend or girlfriend. Team effort can help if you lack self motivation and that is ok! Knowing yourself and your weakness is half the battle!


There are plenty of ways to create a checklist, either in a notebook, or a computer log, or just on a piece of paper. It just needs to be something you go to daily. Remember to start your day with a positive frame of mind about it! This is not meant to be something to create a feeling of self doubt or misery. Train your brain to see the positive and give yourself credit often. It may take some time if this way of thinking seems 'unnatural' but rest assured, you can create a healthier mindset if you try your hardest.


My biggest advice is to just enjoy the process, don't see it as something too large to obtain or too complicated, just be light hearted about it, forgive yourself if you struggle or do not do something that day you said you would, accept that you didn't, forgive yourself and hold yourself accountable to do it either now or tomorrow. But whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE UP!


Change is right around the corner, just take that first step, and another step and another and pretty soon you're at the top, looking back at a month and seeing your progress. Congratulate yourself and maybe do another 30 days and set more goals. Whatever feels good to you! Just work on improvement and consistency.
