Rosemary Lavender Bath Salt Recipe

A bath is one of my favorite ways to unwind and treat myself! I like to light candles, grab a book, make a cup of tea and make a bath soak that makes me feel like a goddess! Lavender is usually at the top of my list when it comes to aromatherapy and rosemary a close second!

When combined, rosemary and lavender provide a bath that is both relaxing and rejuvenating! Rosemary has been credited for its healing properties for centuries! Many cultures believe the plant wards off bad spirits and brings protection. I believe rosemary is the one essential oil everyone should have on hand at all times! The list of benefits of the oil of the magnificent plant is amazing!

Here are some of the benefits and known uses for rosemary oil:

Provides stress and anxiety relief and mental clarity

Increases circulation

Cures headaches

Boosts the immune system

Alleviates muscle and joint pain

Relieves cold and flu pain

Stimualtes hair growth and gets rid of dandruff

Gets rid of cellulite

Clears acne

It can also be used as a natural cleaner, insecticide and mosquito repellent!

Lavender means 'to wash' in Latin and has been used for centuries for its pleasant aroma and healing qualities. Lavender is personally my favorite plant essential oil! I put it in all the products I make! The scent is truly calming and lovely.

Here are some of the many benefits of lavender oil:

Calms the nervous system

Treats insomnia

Heals acne

Used as a topical pain reliever

Stimulates urine production

Aids in treating respiratory disorders

Helps with hair loss and regrowth

Improves circulation

Aids in digestion when taken internally

Heals wounds, cuts, burns and sunburns

I combine these two healing essential oils with Epsom salts to make a bath soak that provides ultimate relaxation to both my body and spirit! Epsom salts are known to help alleviate muscle pain and cramps, provide relaxation and have an anti-inflammatory effect on your joints and muscles.

What I like to do is place the following items in a mixing bowl and prepare before placing in a jar to store.

2 cups of Epsom Salts

30 drops of Rosemary essential oil

30 drops of Lavender essential oil

1 Tablespoon of Sweet Almond, Sesame or Grapeseed oil

7 Tablespoons of dried fresh Rosemary

7 Tablespoons of dried Lavender buds

Combine all ingredients and mix. Scoop into glass jars and viola! You have a lovely, relaxing and rejuvenating bath soak!

These bath salts make EXCELLENT gifts that both men and women love! They can also be used as a foot soak if you're not much on soaking in a bath.

Happy soaking!!!
